I am a self-taught quilter who originally wanted to make ONE quilt for my expected grandchild. Four years later I can add over 75 finished quilted projects as well as numerous UFOs to that original goal. Almost immediately I realized that I had finally found the outlet for my creative urges and soon began designing my own quilts. I have begun using original artwork produced by Sarita, my 21-year-old daughter and fabric painted by Josh, my 22-year-old son in my projects. I also likes to use unexpected fabrics and touches of whimsy in my pieces, such as the satin and velvet in the “Be Gentle With the Earth” wall hanging and the sign reading “mermaid crossing” in one of my seascapes. While most of my work is privately owned, I currently have several large wall hangings displayed in Rhode Island medical offices and am working on a quilt for another business in my area. Also, several of my art quilts have been displayed at two “Project Digs” art shows in Providence, RI and most recently my "Be Gentle" wallhanging was selected to be displayed as a part of the Creative Spirit Center's Summertime FIBERPLAY Exhibit of “Creative Hands” and will be on display at The International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas during the fall of 2006.
I am currently very involved in the designing and pattern writing aspects of quilting. I will begin presenting several original mystery quilts on my group, Patchwork Puzzlers, as well as BOM's. In June I began teaching at a local fabric store. I am teaching a beginner class, as well as a BOM.

When you do, you'll see the very first quilt that I made for my grandson Myles. The one that started my addiction! I had no previous experience at all. Just bought a book, looked up a pattern and said , ok I am making this one. When it was done I thought it would look cute with bears. Then I found the alphabet fabric and cut that up to add too. Luckily I ran out of room for more things or I may have kept adding and adding..LOL. I used black thread, even for the quilting. I decided it needed a label of sorts so I embroidered across the bottom of the front with yarn in big letters! It is a true beginners quilt and Myles loves it. That is all that matters !
